Paris
Destination ParisImpressive, amazing, beautiful and stunning and still these words can not express enough of Paris, the Capital of France. Paris is unique and with over 30 million visitors a year, the most popular tourist destination in the world. Situated on the River Seine, in the northern part of France, Paris will without a doubt surprise you with its beauty and diversity. The most famous symbol of Paris, and visible from everywhere in the city, is the Eiffel Tower with its height of 320 meters (1050 ft.). It is hard to believe that the Eiffel Tower was considered a radical monstrosity, when it was build for the World Exposition in 1889. A lift will bring you all the way to the top, from where you can enjoy a stunning view over Paris. The Seine River flows through the heart of the city and along the banks you will find hundreds of artists, florists, vendors of postal cards and second hand books, cafes and restaurants. The best way to discover the Seine is with a tour boat cruising up and down the river. Almost 36 bridges are crossing the Seine in Paris, among which are some national treasures. The river was named by Julius Caesar and runs nearly 500 miles from Burgundy all the way to the English Channel. |
